$35,000+ (depending on experience/credentials)
1) Health and Dental insurance - 70% of premiums payable by Employer (80% after 4 yrs).
2) STRS contribution by Employer 14%.
3) 10 personal days in a year - If unused, compensation is paid at a rate of $200 per day.

    

Horizon Science Academy Toledo is seeking a dedicated and experienced In-School Suspension Supervisor to join our team. As an integral part of our disciplinary system, the In-School Suspension Supervisor will work closely with students, teachers, and administrators to maintain a positive and safe learning environment. This position requires excellent communication skills, strong leadership abilities, and a firm commitment to supporting student success.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise In-School Suspension (ISS) Room: Monitor students assigned to in-school suspension, ensuring adherence to school rules and behavior expectations.
  • Maintain Order and Discipline: Enforce school policies and procedures within the ISS room, addressing any behavioral issues promptly and effectively.
  • Provide Guidance and Support: Offer mentorship and guidance to students in ISS, helping them reflect on their actions and make positive choices.
  • Implement Educational Activities: Facilitate educational activities and assignments for students in ISS to ensure continued academic engagement.
  • Document Incidents and Progress: Maintain accurate records of student behavior, incidents, and progress during their time in ISS.
  • Collaborate with Teachers and Administrators: Communicate with teachers and administrators regarding student behavior, academic progress, and any other relevant concerns.
  • Supervise Transition: Oversee the transition of students in and out of ISS, ensuring a smooth reintegration into regular classes.
  • Promote Positive Behavior: Encourage and reinforce positive behavior among students, fostering a culture of respect and responsibility.
  • Professional Development: Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and stay updated on best practices in student discipline and support.
  • Crisis Intervention: Intervene in crisis situations as necessary, following school protocols and procedures to ensure the safety of all students and staff.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in education, counseling, social work, or a related field (preferred).
  • Experience working with K-12 students in a school setting.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain composure in challenging situations.
  • Knowledge of restorative justice practices is a plus.
  • Commitment to fostering a positive school climate and supporting student growth and development.
